Erin and her husband have been married for 11 years and are the tenders of Plot 49 - growing their family alongside each and every plant.
GROWING SOMETHING FROM NOTHING
BUT DIRT & LOVE
As a child, Erin did much of her own growing in her family garden where she learned about the deep connection between human and nature. From climbing trees with her sister, to growing sunflowers and vegetables with her father, a foundation was built for a lifelong love of spending time in the garden.
.
Later on in years, Erin met her husband and they started a family of their own. After many years of dreaming, they purchased a small cottage built in 1949 in a quaint village near where Erin had grown up, in hopes to create a simple haven their family could love for years to come. Together, with their two lovely daughters, they have put in endless hours of hard work to create what is now affectionately known as Plot 49.

"I think the best part about what we are doing here is the simple fact that we are doing it together. From digging holes, to planting new flowers and shrubs, and everything in between. The whole process is a growing experience, not just for our plot, but for us as a family."
FROM PLANTING TO PLOTTING

"With much of the property left unmaintained, we were forced to clear the land and start from scratch. Our second year in our cottage, we planted two crab apple trees, one for each of our daughters. Each year we take a photo of them in front of their trees to see how much both of them have grown. Just another reminder that the work we put in here will be appreciated and enjoyed in the years to come. I am a firm believer in planting the tree today that you want to enjoy tomorrow."

A passion turned into a plan as thoughts of a gardening club paired with curated, handmade goods dedicated to gardening ignited the idea for Erin to open a shop. And so, after years of piecing it all together, in March of 2023, Garden & Guild was born.

In the shop you will find horticulture inspired goods for the gardener at heart. Join us here to cultivate friendship amongst the flowers, where you are always welcome to grow.
